God is Good All The Time!
In going through this cancer journey with my mom, most days are very tough and I just sit and think about how much I want this to be over with and how much I want everything to be ok and how much I want life to just be back to normal. But, then, there are days when I am reminded just how good God really is and that he has everything under control.
The biggest way I have been show that, is just through all the love and support from friends, family, and even complete strangers. My family did a big fundraiser for my mom back in December where they raised money and for every $100 raised, someone in my family shaved their head. And when we reached the $1000 mark, my cousin, Heather shaved her head! It was so amazing to see all the love and support and we just turned it into a super fun night of shaving, laughing, smiling, and enjoying each others company. Over $1500 was raised for my mom to help with medical bills with that fundraiser! And it just reminded me that I am truly blessed, and that God is always in control.
The most recent example I have of this, just happened this past Saturday, January 10th. Me, my brother Adam, and my friend Abbey all went on JQ99.3 radio station to talk with the host, JR Pittman about how cancer has impacted our lives and to promote a fundraiser that Tre-J Ministries, a youth film ministry I volunteer at, is putting on for my mom. While on the radio there was so much love and support pouring in from all over the place. People I never even met calling and talking to us telling us we will get through it and everything will be ok. And we even already got some donations to help my already from a complete stranger and also from the sound guy. It was an absolutely amazing night. And I felt like God was just patting me and saying to me "It told you I got this under control, see how I am working in this already?" I felt so overwhelmed with hope, joy, and love sitting there in that studio. It really made me feel like everything was going to be fine and God has everything under control.
Now this fundraiser I am talking about is happening this coming Saturday, January 17. I feel like God is going to do some big things there, too. So I will definitely keep you all posted on how it goes. If you know me and my family personally, and live in the same area I do, you know about the fundraiser and where its at, so come out and show my mom some love and support! I am so excited and can't wait to see what God will do!
To end this post, all I can is that God is good, all the time, and all the time, God is good! He works in ways we cannot always see or understand, but he is always working and is always with us through any and all tough situations!
