New Year, New Goals!
So, last year at around this time, I wrote a blog post telling you guys about my goals for 2015. Well, let me just say HOLY CHEESE ITS!! I actually accomplished all of my goals for 2015! I, honestly, was not sure it was going to be possible, but God got me through it and made the impossible, possible.
My first goal for 2015, was to help my mom beat cancer. And PRAISE GOD, my mom kicked cancers butt and sent it packing right out the door! She has been in remission since August and we are so thankful and feel so blessed! I am also just so happy to see her finally feeling good again and back to herself. Also, with having a granddaughter, my mom definitely is glowing and so happy! So God is definitely good on that front.
The other goal I had for myself was to find a job and start really being more independent and take care of myself more. And yes, I did find a job. I was offered the job in the middle of July, and started in September. I work for a Before and After School Daycare Program at a local public Elementary School. And I absolutely love it! I really feel right in my element and like I am really making a difference at this job. Also, with having a job, I finally feel like I am able to do things for myself more and am starting to pay for my phone again, I pay for my gas, when my car needs repairs, and when the insurance bill for my car roles around I plan on paying for that. I also am going to paying my own way down to Florida in February and have been paying for myself when we go to dinner and things like that. I finally am feeling more like an adult and feel so good about it and am so happy about it! God has provided for me and blessed me!
The next goal, I actually really over shot my thinking on. I initially had a goal of just trying to be healthier and maybe doing more exercising and trying better to eat right. But, little did I know that the thing I really wanted to do, which was have Bariatric Surgery, was what would really be happening in 2015! Yes, I have definitely met my goal to be healthier. I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery on September 14th, but began this journey on May 11th. And in just 7 months, I have lost 102 and pounds!!! I feel so good and so much healthier already! I also am just so happy and proud of myself, and have never felt so happy and proud of myself ever in my life! I definitely plan to continue pushing right on through! And I have God to thank for giving me the strength to continue on.
The last goal I had was to continue to improve my faith journey and grow my relationship with God. And I do think I have grown closer to God in this last year as well. I do think I can still improve and continue to grow, which is one of my goals for 2016 as well. But I do think I am doing good and am feeling pretty good about my walk with God as well.
So now, where am I looking to head in 2016? Well, I plan on continuing to work and make money so I can continue to become more and more independent. My huge goal is continue on in my weight loss, and maybe lose another 100 pounds? We will see! I do have a little over 100 pounds to lose before I am at what is considered a "healthy weight", so maybe I can reach that this year, but I would for sure love to at least reach a goal of being in 100s for weight and get out of the 200s! I just hit the 200s over the last week, so now I want to see the 100s! I really want to work on getting more active and doing more exercising so I can tone up and strengthen up as well. So that is a big goal for 2016 right there. Another goal I have is to potentially start dating. I finally am starting to get to a point where I feel confident enough that I could go on a date with someone, and I am reaching a stage in life where everyone I graduated with is starting to get engaged and get married, and I am wanting to get there, as well. I am not sure yet how I am going to accomplish my goal of dating, but we will see what God has in store for me. And lastly, just to continue to improve my faith and grow in my faith journey. Just want to continue to reach my simple goals for my future on step at a time. And I serve a big God and think it is definitely possible! I am so ready to see what 2016 has in store for me!
