Life is Always Good!

Ok, right from the beginning of this post you might think I am nuts! I mean, how the heck is life always good? There is so much crap going on all the time. For example, riots in Baltimore, an Earth Quake in Nepal, Cancer, job issues, personal issues, the list is endless! But, here is the thing, in the middle of all the crap, there is so much beauty, and there is so much to be thankful for.

A few nights ago I went for a walk to the beach with my mom. We happen to live really close to Lake Michigan, so we went to look at Lake Michigan for awhile. It was a beautiful night! It was cool, but the sun was shining, glistening over the water. And beams of light were shining through the clouds, creating beautiful colors in the sky. And the waves were gently rolling on the shore, creating that super soothing sound that people just love to listen to. And my mom and I were talking, and she said to me, "Yeah, this cancer thing sucks, but just look at what we are looking at right now. This is perfect and we are so blessed to live here and to be able to see this sight. This is something to be thankful for." And you know what? It really hit me, in the middle of crap, there is always something to be thankful for and there is always so much beauty. And God gives us that beauty, so we always have something to be thankful for.

I mean, in the middle of this cancer journey with my mom, I have been so grateful for all the amazing people that have come along side us to help us and support us through every step of the process. And seeing that love and support, just makes me remember how good God is. Even simple things as I have a family who loves me and a roof over my head, that is something to be thankful for. You even see so much positive when you hear about something like the Earth Quake in Nepal, and then hear how a 4 month old baby was rescued from the rubble 22 hours after the quake hit. That is something beautiful. So, something I challenge you to do every day, is think of at least 10 things you can be thankful for in that day or think of 10 really good things that occurred or beautiful things you saw. It keeps you thinking positive.

Here is the thing, even when life sucks, it doesn't suck as much as you think, because there is a lot of good. And there is a God who loves you more than you even realize and is always there for you, guiding you every step of the way. And even when you don't think things could possibly be ok, they will be ok, because God will get you through it! Because, God is good all the time, and all the time God is good! That may seem redundant, but it is the truth. God does so much good for you every single day and blesses you in more ways than you know. So, here is my other challenge for you, don't dwell on all the negative things in life. Think of the positives, even when things seem really bad, try to think of positive things. I know it is way easier said than done, trust me, I know. But I can guarantee you will feel so much better thinking positively, because then you won't live in this world of darkness, fear, and sadness. Just be sure to be careful not to go into the world of denial.

So, all in all. Life is always good, even in the darkest moments, because God is always there, creating the good and giving you blessings and holding your hand through every tough situation!
